dream come true

i've never had a dog in my whole life.. parents wouldn't let... or more like mom would never let me have one unless i have a house of my own...that will happen not anytime soon... i can't wait...

if someone got me a puppy... a cute one (NOT ugly and adorable... more like adorable and pretty) and one that will not grow big and not long furr.. something like a chi hua hua.. i would be the happiest person alive!!!

ummm.... if someone got me a puppy my mom wouldn't reject rite coz its a present and not good to reject presents...bring bad luck... right?? hehehe. :)

Chinhuahua?! Yappy ass dogs. Sheesh. Oh all the dogs out there, why the "typical Paris Hilton oh-its-so-small-it-fits-in-my-bag-and-yaps-all-the-time" one? Oh and hunny, puppies dont stay puppies for long. They grow up, then its a full time job for the next 10 or 12 years. You prepared for that?

Toilet training isnt a big thing. And it wasn't what I was talking about. There's the feeding, grooming, taking a dog out for walks everyday and bathing.

There's also a matter of vet bills and such. Those things don't come cheap. I'm not advocating for Vic not having a dog.

I'm merely asking if she's well and truly prepared for one. Dogs are like kids. They're your WHOLE responsibility not just for 1 or 2 years, but for at least 12 or 13.

I adored my dog. I had her till she was 13 years. And in her latter years, she developed a urinary problem, where she'd pee constantly thru the day because her bladder couldn't hold any urine. Which meant having to clean her up at least 4 or 5 times a day, and bathing her backside every 2 days.

She also developed artheritis during the last year she was alive, and that was a major challenge in itself. Just before we put her to sleep, she began defacating on herself because she couldn't get up to go to the grass to do it. And I had to clean her up.

I'm not saying this because I hated doing it or anything. I did it out of love for her, because what she gave me in those years she was alive, was nothing compared to what I had to do for her.

Sheba was my best friend, my companion. So Vic, if you think you're ready to get a dog, go for it. But remember, it's a full time job, and not something you just decide to do one day, and forget about the next.

That dog will love you completely and utterly, and will be willing to do anything to please you for its entire lifspan.

Just make sure you're going to be willing to do the same thing, for the next 12 or 13 years of its life.
